Dean Wade, PF, Cleveland Cavaliers
One of the Cavs best defensive role players is dealing with a left ankle injury. Wade has missed three games in a row, and his next opportunity to play will come on Feb. 19 versus the Brooklyn Nets.
The last game he played was against the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 4, which the Cavs won 124-91. Wade finished with five points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal in the win.
Nae’Qwan Tomlin, SF/PF, Cleveland Cavaliers
Although Cleveland is dealing with the absence of Wade, good things have been happening for Tomlin. He has been a solid spark plug off the bench for the Cavs and was rewarded with a two-year, three-million-dollar deal for his services.
In the game versus the Clippers, Tomlin finished with four points, two assists, two steals and two blocks. On Feb. 7 against the Kings, Tomlin was on his rebounding game, finishing with six points and five rebounds in the 132-126 win. In a close 119-117 win versus the Denver Nuggets on Feb. 9, Tomlin dropped six points again. Now that he’s been given a new contract, it will be interesting to see how he performs in his upcoming games.
Keyontae Johnson, F, Greensboro Swarm
In the high-scoring 140-135 loss versus the Cleveland Charge on Feb. 6, Johnson dropped 25 points with three rebounds. Johnson did this on an impressive 11-16 shooting and was the second-highest scorer for Greensboro.
On Feb. 7, Greensboro got the best of Cleveland this time around, winning 123-110. Johnson filled the stat sheet up, finishing with 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists. He was one rebound shy of a double-double, as he continues to be one of Greensboro’s best players.
