Kansas State forward Macaleab Rich was cited for marijuana possession after police pulled over the sophomore at Claflin Road and Sunset Avenue Tuesday.
Rich, one of three returners from last year’s team, was also cited for not having proof of insurance.
During his freshman campaign, Rich averaged 3.8 points per game and 2.5 rebounds as the Wildcats fell short of a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
A native of East St. Louis, Illinois, Rich was a four-star prospect out of high school where he played with Illinois-Chicago transfer and new Wildcat CJ Jones.
In addition to being one of the limited returners from last year’s squad, Rich was the remaining member from head coach Jerome Tang’s first recruiting class. Transfers RJ Jones and Dai Dai Ames departed during the offseason.
As of writing, the team has not made a statement on the event.
