Execution of search warrant leads to three arrests

Forty-one-year-old Stephanie Taylor, 28-year-old Grier Griffith and 32-year-old Colton Gardner were arrested after Riley County police executed a search warrant on the three Manhattan residents.

According to a news release, the three were arrested on multiple charges, including the distribution of “drug paraphernalia for illegal use.”

All three were issued bond — Taylor at $100,000, Griffith at $75,000 and Gardner at $15,000.

Ashley Tokoi, RCPD public information officer, said the RCPD canine unit was involved in the search of the suspects.

“They brought [the dog] over and had him search two vehicles,” Tokoi said.

Manhattan resident Debbie Townsend said Manhattan has always had little crime.

“We have lived here all of our life and it has always been low crime, low drugs, but it is getting to be more and more,” Debbie Townsend said.

Debbie’s husband Scott Townsend said he is satisfied with the police department and fire department.

“They can only do so much so quick,” Scott Townsend said. “I have brothers who were drug addicts. One killed himself and the other was doing really good at the time … and last I knew he was living in the Topeka shelter. Drugs will ruin your life. Period.”
