Wildcats knocked out of WBIT by Cal in second round

Matching up for the first time, the 2-seed Kansas State Wildcats matched up against the California Golden Bears during the second round of the WBIT. While it wasn’t the outcome any team wants during the month of March, the Wildcats finished with fight.

The Kansas State Wildcats turned heads and brought upsets throughout their first three games of the Big 12 Tournament before facing off against the No. 1 seed TCU Horned Frogs in the semifinals.

As the number of games dwindle for Kansas State women’s basketball, the seniors in the white-and-purple uniforms were recognized after the second season matchup of the Sunflower Showdown.

Donning pink and white uniforms in Kansas State’s Play 4 Kay Game on Feb. 10, the Wildcats jumped ahead early with a 6-0 run before Oklahoma State University made its first points. K-State went on scoring runs of seven, six and three points all in just the first quarter, putting the Wildcats ahead 18-9 after the first 10 minutes of play.
