As the weather is getting consistently warmer, the Wildcats are out and about. The sunny afternoons and warm evenings are the perfect recipe for a stroll around town, or a fan-favorite, City Park. Located just a few minutes’ walk south of campus, City Park offers a mile-long trail, acres of green space, ball fields and tennis courts for Manhattan residents and students to enjoy various recreational activities.

For many students, City Park is in close proximity to where they live and provides an accessible place to decompress between classes or at the end of the day, walk and talk, play volleyball or picnic.
Emmi Jackson, senior in architectural engineering, enjoys walking her dog Cojo at City Park.
“I like walking Cojo at City Park because there are dog water fountains and everyone is so friendly,” Jackson said. “It is such a good location and so central to my neighborhood.”
Pet owners also enjoy the open space for their furry friends to burn some energy since many apartments and homes around campus do not have large yards for them to run in.
