Wildcats hold off Houston 69-65

Despite being outscored in both the first and second quarters, the Kansas State Wildcats found a way to push past difficulties and pull out a second win against the Houston Cougars. While the ‘Cats won by nine points during their previous matchup — which was exactly two weeks ago on January 7 — this go-around was cut down to a four-point win, 69-65.

West Virginia edges out K-State 60-58

Six lead changes, five ties and a last-second scenario. The Kansas State Wildcats found themselves down by two against West Virginia in the fourth quarter after the Mountaineers made a jumper in the lane. K-State head coach Jeff Mittie called a timeout with 19.7 seconds on the clock, drawing up a specific play.

K-State Upset At Home Against South Dakota

South Dakota forward Patience Williams hit a game-winning three as the Coyotes upset Kansas State in Manhattan. The three-pointer by Williams was her first points of the game as it gave South Dakota the 72-71 lead, which they would hold on to as K-State missed at the buzzer.
Driving to the basket, freshman Jordan Speiser (23) goes in for a layup against Lamar University. Speiser had her first collegiate double-double, contributing 11 points along with 10 rebounds.

The Kansas State Wildcats women’s basketball team starts its season with an abundance of effort and unselfishness. In the Wildcats' home opener at Bramlage Coliseum, K-State took down the Omaha Mavericks in a 100-35 smackdown.
