The Kansas House Democrats On the Road came to Manhattan on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Blue Sage barn at Prairiewood on Wildcat Creek Road. This event was organized by the Kansas House Democrats, in partnership with the Riley County Democrats, for the Manhattan community.
Kansas State Democratic Legislators, Rep. Sydney Carlin, Rep. Linda Featherston and Rep. Jerry Stogsdill spoke as panelists at the event, with Panel Moderator Kelm Lear. Attendees were encouraged to “mingle with local legislators” and “stick around for a Q&A” after remarks from the legislators.
Governor Laura Kelly was the intended guest speaker, but could not attend due to illness. Brandon Woodard, a Kansas House of Representatives Legislator, filled in for Kelly and extended the panel portion of the event in her absence.
