Wildcats ward off Arizona 2-1

The battle between the Wildcats was fierce, going inning for inning until both teams scored late into the game. The first five and a half innings were silenced between starting pitchers, Owen Kramkowski for Arizona and James Guyette for K-State.
Cadyn Karl looks for a pitch against Omaha during a midweek matchup. K-State would lose 12-5 against the Mavericks after going six scoreless innings. Karl went 1-2 at the plate, knocking out a double and an RBI.

K-State goes scoreless over final six innings in loss to Omaha

Tanner Duke got the evening started for Kansas State on the mound, but that didn’t faze Omaha. The Mavericks built momentum early, as they started the top of the first with two runs and a home run to deep center field from designated hitter Nick Riggs. The Wildcats stayed quiet during the bottom of the first, responding with zero runs.

K-State completes comeback late in series win against Oklahoma State

Kansas State scored four runs in the seventh inning and five runs in the eighth inning to take a 13-9 lead, which they would hold on to for a comeback victory over Oklahoma State. The Wildcats nine unanswered runs came after a power surge from the Cowboys that saw them hit five home runs in the afternoon, including three over the sixth and seventh innings.

The Friday night lights turned on for Kansas State as they matched up against Oklahoma State in game one of the ‘Cats second home series of the week. The Wildcats started James Guyette on the hill, who pitched seven innings and gave up three runs on three hits. Guyette had a career high 12 strikeouts as well, bolstering K-State to a 11-3 win against the Cowboys.

K-State loses third straight series

Both purple lineups managed to secure a win, setting up the series decider in game 3. Unfortunately for Kansas State, Texas Christian would take control early and remain in charge for the duration of all nine innings, securing a 4-0 win.

K-State falls against No. 24 Nebraska

With the weather feeling like a true spring evening, Kansas State had a competitive battle with the No. 24 Nebraska Huskers during a mid-week matchup on Tuesday. Nebraska got the game started by scoring two runs on three hits in the first inning off of K-State starter Cohen Feser to take the lead 2-0. The Cornhuskers’ hot start was followed by silent bats from K-State in a three-up, three-down bottom half. 
Dee Kennedy turns to the K-State dugout to give a celebration. Kennedy now has four home runs in his last two games as he homered in the third inning, which tied the game at 3-3. The Wildcats would take the win 7-5.

K-State wins back-and-forth battle against the Shockers

Dee Kennedy homered for the eighth time this season as Kansas State took down Wichita State 7-5 in a contested back-and-forth battle. “Good, clean, sound win in all phases of the game,” K-State head coach Pete Hughes said. “I was very happy with it. Our guys played with great energy and played clean baseball.”

As the American flag rippled in the wind — pointing out to left center — the Kansas State baseball team was set for its first matchup of a three-game series against the SIUE Cougars.
