Recently coming off an ankle injury, Wade has been cooking from the perimeter. The Cavs’ latest game on Feb. 24 saw Wade finish with 11 points, shooting 3-for-5 from three-point range. One of the three pointers came at the buzzer, as Wade knocked down the clutch shot to give Cleveland a nine-point lead against the New York Knicks to end quarter one. The sixth-year pro almost had a double-double, totaling eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
On Feb. 20, versus the Charlotte Hornets, Wade ended the game with eight points, on 2-2 shooting from three. Returning from injury on Feb. 19 against the Brooklyn Nets, he had 11 points on 3-for-3 from three.
Nae’Qwan Tomlin, F, Cleveland Cavaliers
Tomlin’s best game since the NBA All-Star break came against the Hornets, when he finished with five points and two rebounds. The recently extended forward found himself in a bit of foul trouble this game, totaling three fouls in his 13 minutes of play.
Keyonte Johnson, SF, Greensboro Swarm
Greensboro has been firing on all cylinders, boasting a 17-6 record. The Swarm is one of the best teams in the NBA’s G-League, coming in at No. 2 in the Eastern Conference, and Johnson has been a key contributor to the wins. On Feb. 20, in the matchup against the Wisconsin Herd, Johnson finished at the top of the box score, dropping 28 points.
In a rematch on Feb. 21 against Wisconsin, the former Wildcat totaled 18 points. His most recent game on Feb. 24 versus the Memphis Hustle saw a decrease in scoring, as he finished with 14 points. Johnson also had five rebounds and four assists in the 126-105 win.
