Since its opening as Calios in 2018, D.P. Dough’s famous calzones, wings and cheese stix made it a fan-favorite in Aggieville because of its late hours and close proximity to the bars. However, after a temporary closure last semester, the business permanently closed over the summer.
Students had mixed reactions about D.P. Dough’s closing.
Joel Coronel, junior in electrical engineering, said it was a “good place to go after the bars, instead of making food at home, and safer since you didn’t have to drive to a location.”
D.P. Dough was one of few restaurants that were open late on Friday and Saturday night in Manhattan, closing at 4 a.m.
Jordan Khan, second year in veterinary medicine, said nearly no places are open after midnight on the weekday, unlike D.P. Dough, which was open every day of the week.
“This [the closing] is going to negatively impact the number of food choices we have,” Khan said.
