The national election is less than a week away, so here is everything a first-time voter needs to know.
The first step is to find your nearest polling location at ksvotes.org. Riley County locations are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 5.
Once at your polling location, be sure to have a form of identification on you, such as a student ID, passport or driver’s license. If you’re uncertain whether your ID is valid for voting, you can visit vote411.org to review your state’s ID requirements.
Voters can choose whether they prefer to use a voting machine or a paper ballot.
Riley County uses a voting machine called Express Vote. With it you can select the candidates you want to vote for and then the machine will print a ballot stock. Voters are encouraged to double-check the physical ballot before inserting it into the tabulating machine.
If you have any questions, speak with a poll worker at your voting location.
