It has been six weeks since Riley County police officers found Kansas State student Kenna Hibbs severely injured after allegedly being attacked on her walk home from Aggieville.
Ashley Tokoi, Riley County Police Department public information officer, said the delay in the investigation is partially because lab results can take “between three and four months to get back.”
“The … labs are going to be pretty determinative of which direction the investigation takes,” Tokoi said.
Tokoi said Hibbs is coming in next week for an interview.
According to the Hibbs’ family statement, she is making “good progress” in her recovery and has resumed her degree work remotely by “zooming into classes when possible.”
Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 785-539-7777 and may qualify for a reward of up to $1,000, along with an additional $10,000 reward offered by the Hibbs family.
