“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” had its revival in the media with its recent anime, “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off” on Netflix, making it the perfect time to watch the original film. No movie is complete without a snack, so let’s have movie night. My recommended pairing: the every-meal garlic bread.
The original manga and the film highlight Scott’s love of garlic bread, that being the only food he makes for Ramona. He claims he could eat it for every meal, and wants to eat it all the time without stopping. Honestly, I have to agree with the sentiment.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons of unsalted and softened butter
1 ½ teaspoons of garlic paste
¼ teaspoon of Italian seasoning
¼ teaspoon of salt
Bread of choice
Parmesan cheese
Preparation
- Put your softened butter into a small bowl or cup. Add in the garlic paste, Italian seasoning and salt. Mix until thoroughly combined and set aside.
- Pick your bread; I recommend sliced sourdough or a ciabatta roll from Radina’s Bakehouse. Thicker breads will give you a softer center and thinner breads will get extra crispy. Spread a thin layer of your garlic butter across your bread, using the butter as glue to layer on your desired amount of parmesan. Grated parmesan will work, but I recommend using a bag of shredded parmesan for the melty cheese experience.
- Lay out the buttery pieces of bread in your air fryer. Use the air fryer setting at 375 F for 4 minutes. Now you have the easiest homemade garlic bread, just in time to put on “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.”
