Move over, Barden Bellas. There’s a new fully student-led a cappella group on the rise. Resonate, Kansas State’s new student-led a cappella group that sings popular songs by artists ranging from Adele to Rex Orange County, will perform at Wareham Hall on Sunday.
“Our goal is to enrich Manhattan with our unique styling of music and have fun doing it,” Anna Bajich, Resonate president and sophomore in secondary education and math, said.
Fifteen K-State students established the group at the end of the fall 2023 semester.
“We had all previously sung in a group together but had an idea for a new group that we wanted to build from the ground up,” Sydney Elmore, soprano in Resonate and junior in strategic communications, said. “The concert is a fundraiser for both Resonate and the Wareham, as they are about to undergo a huge renovation this summer.”
This benefit will not only help support Resonate and Wareham Hall, but also the Fairy Godmothers, a group of Manhattan women who offer grants to help women in need.
“This will be one of our first performances, so we hope that our music, along with the iconic and goofy movie Pitch Perfect, will be a fun way for Manhattan to get to know Kansas State’s newest a cappella group,” Bajich said.
Manhattan Brewing Co. will provide concessions at the concert, and tickets are $9 at the door. You can also buy tickets on Resonate’s Instagram and TikTok.
Resonate will give its final performance of the year during dead week.
“The show we’ve been working towards all semester will be held at University Christian Church on May 3 at 7:30 p.m.,” Elmore said. “Expect a night of good energy and good music — we’re putting our all into the best possible show.”

Would love to hear this group, if I lived nearby. Thanks
