Kansas State recently announced its new popular music studies minor for students in the College of Arts and Sciences. Mainly designed for music, theatre and dance students, the course delves into the sounds of pop music and how it relates to modern society.
The required number of hours to receive this minor is 15, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn more about the history of music. Some of the classes offered include MUSIC 154 – Salsa: Afro Cuban Music Past and Present, MUSIC 599 – Special Studies in Music and THTRE 552 – Sound Design.
