Cooper Beebe, C, Dallas Cowboys
Cowboys’ fans are certainly happy to get the overtime win against the New York Giants, but not so much about the Cooper Beebe injury. Beebe played in 73 of the 89 offensive snaps for Dallas before going down.
The injury came just as overtime began. Beebe suffered a high right ankle sprain and will miss six to eight weeks. Beebe was having a solid start to his second year before the unfortunate injury.
D.J. Reed, CB, Detroit Lions
The Lions made quick work of the Chicago Bears, winning 52-21. D.J. Reed had a solid outing, totaling five solo tackles, like his performance in Week 1.
Although the Lions won in convincing fashion, the secondary has a few issues. The Bears’ receivers were able to connect on some big plays, some of which Reed let up. In Week 3, Reed is sure to bounce back in a more impactful way.
Ben Sinnott, TE, Washington Commanders
Tight end Ben Sinnott snagged his first catch of the year. Sinnott reeled in a 7-yard reception against the Green Bay Packers.
Hopefully, his involvement in the Commander offense grows steadily as the season progresses.
Dalton Risner, LG, Cincinnati Bengals
In his first start with the Bengals, Risner was solid all around. There were some question marks about the offensive line’s performance, though. The Bengals’ front five let up nine pressures, which is not disastrous, but not ideal.
Risner committed one offside penalty in the game, which resulted in a loss of four yards. Since Risner is a veteran, it would not be shocking to see him have more starts in Cincinnati.
Cornelius Lucas, RT, Cleveland Browns
Risner wasn’t the only former Wildcat to make his first start of the season, as Cornelius Lucas made his first start as well. Lucas stepped in for injured right tackle Jack Conklin, allowing zero sacks and penalties.
Lucas did struggle in his run blocking, though. Pro Football Focus gave him a 43.5 run blocking grade in the matchup against a lethal Baltimore Ravens defense.
Tyler Lockett, WR, Tennessee Titans
Tyler Lockett had his first catch of the new season, as the former Wildcat finished with two receptions for nine total yards. The Titans came up short against the Los Angeles Rams 33-19.
With Lockett getting more involved in Week 2, maybe Week 3 will see even more from the veteran receiver.
