According to ESPN’s college football senior writer Pete Thamel, Kansas State offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Conor Riley is expected to be hired by the Dallas Cowboys as the team’s new offensive line coach.
Widely respected as one of the top offensive line coaches in the country by peers and players alike, Riley finished his sixth season at K-State in 2024 tutoring the Wildcats’ offensive front while serving as the program’s offensive coordinator for the first time.
In Dallas, Riley will be reunited with two former All-American Wildcats. In particular, on the o-line, Riley will again tutor Cowboys starting center Cooper Beebe — a 2024 third-round pick and the 2022 and 2023 Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year. Running behind Beebe is former sixth-round back Deuce Vaughn — 2021-22 consensus All-American for K-State.
Riley came to Manhattan after six years at North Dakota State, including the final five coaching the offensive line under K-State head coach Chris Klieman. The duo helped NDSU win five national championships during Riley’s tenure.
Riley will work under the Cowboys’ new headman Brian Schottenheimer, looking to bring success back to Dallas after a 7-10 season.
K-State still has Matt Wells, who completed his first season at K-State as the program’s Co-OC, quarterbacks coach, and associate head coach in 2024. Wells, who boasts nine years of head coaching experience, could transition into the primary OC for the Wildcats.
K-State (9-4, 5-4) finished 2024 as Rate Bowl champions and enters 2025 as the betting favorite to win the Big 12 Conference, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
