Kansas State’s Performance Department will showcase a Broadway musical rendition of the popular children’s series “Frog and Toad” written by Arnold Lobel as “A Year with Frog and Toad” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in McCain Auditorium.
According to the K-State event website, “The jazzy, upbeat score of ‘A Year with Frog and Toad’ bubbles with melody and wit, making it an inventive, exuberant and enchanting musical for the whole family.”
This kid-friendly musical follows two amphibious best friends who go on adventures that every child dreams of while learning valuable life lessons along the way.
“The thing that makes this production unique is the immersive, interactive feel we are creating in the Chapman Theatre,” Jerry Jay Cranford, director/choreographer and associate professor of theatre, said. “There will be a limited amount of participation, play kits available each performance allowing our audiences to become part of the action, along with other opportunities to dance with the characters and join them on the stage for a scary story about the not-so-scary Large and Terrible Frog.”
