Rockin K’s is one of three locations alongside Kite’s and Mr K’s, offering a gastropub twist on the brand we all know and love. Located at 1880 Kimball Avenue, it opened in September 2020 with the goal of bringing a fun, local and atmospheric restaurant close to Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The menu features vegan and vegetarian options, making it the perfect meeting place for friend groups of all preferences.
Co-owner Blake Druecker said there is a history behind Rockin K’s and what it offers to the Kansas State community.
“We just bring in a diverse group of people, which I like about it,” said Druecker. “We try to have something for every person in the community.”
Rockin K’s aims to please with free parking and free Wi-Fi, making it the perfect place to study without breaking the bank.
Make the most of your week on Taco Tuesday, featuring an exclusive menu and $4 Coronas all day. Or, stay traditional with fajitas and el pastor tacos, and mix it up with spicy peanut steak and chicken teriyaki.
Kameryn Gerten, the location’s manager, said her favorite memories at Rockin K’s involve “all the friendships” she’s made with the staff and customers.
“Game days are a blast here, even when you’re working them,” Gerten said.
Gerten recommended a “unique” item on the menu.
“The Kansas Grilled Cheese [and] our brisket is really good,” she said.
Just like Kite’s, Rockin K’s offers its iconic cookie bakes in both chocolate chip and salted caramel flavors. It is the perfect celebratory sweet treat after a home game.
As the restaurant looks to the holiday season, look out for their Christmas pop-up shop in December. “Merry K’s” will feature festive menu items and drinks that will get you in the spirit all month long.
