The Driver Era will perform tonight, April 11, at Bramlage Coliseum with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the opening act, pop singer Caroline Kingsbury, set to perform at 8 p.m.
Kansas State prepares as the Disney Channel heartthrob Ross Lynch makes his Manhattan debut with his brother Rocky in ‘The Driver Era.’ Ross Lynch is well known for his role on “Austin & Ally” as Austin Moon, as well as his role in the TV show “My Friend Dahmer” as a young Jeffery Dahmer.
According to the K-State Student Union website, “The concert is organized and sponsored by the Union Program Council in partnership with the K-State Student Union, Union Governing Board and Student Governing Association. UPC’s Campus Entertainment Fund is funded through student service fees and engages the K-State community with performers based on student surveys. Past events have included comedians Ken Jeong, Will Ferrell and Bo Burnham, as well as concerts featuring Nick Jonas, T-Pain and Yung Gravy.”
Formed in 2018, brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch formed a duo, “The Driver Era” after the falling out of their previous band, “R5” which consisted of themselves and their three other siblings. The Driver Era’s debut single, “Preacher Man,” had a new sound, which led to other albums such as “Girlfriend” and “Summer Mixtape” featuring different styles of lyricism and soulful melodies. Luckily for K-State students, their newest album “Obsession” is set to release on the day of the concert.
Their devoted fanbase has followed the duo through every sound — from pop lyrics to an indie alternative vibe — the R5 family continues to grow as the duo makes their way in the industry.
