These chocolate delights are courtesy of Jerry Fischer, junior in construction science, who has made them for as long as he can remember. This treat is from the Fischer family’s recipe archives, composed of thrifted recipe books and old family recipes.
“[The brownies] taste just like home and remind me of all the gatherings my family hosts every year,” Jerry Fischer said.
This recipe yields 18-24 brownies and is easy enough to come out perfect, even with a hectic schedule and questionable dorm kitchen.
Ingredients
- * 2 cups of white sugar
- * 1 ¾ cup of flour
- * 1 teaspoon of salt
- ½ cup of cocoa
- Five eggs
- 1 cup of vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- One cup of chocolate chips

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-by-13 inch pan.
- Place ingredients into a large mixing bowl and beat until smooth, then pour the mixture into the greased pan.
- Evenly sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the brownie dough. Place into the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Remove brownies from the oven and allow to cool, then enjoy!
