Now that the temperature is dropping and it is actually starting to feel like fall, we can finally start wearing cute jackets, pants and all the weather-friendly fits for gameday. There are only a few chances left to put together an outfit to support the ‘Cats, so let’s make them count!
This Saturday, Kansas State takes on the University of Kansas at the Sunflower Showdown in Lawrence. Not only will K-State come out on top in football, but we’ll be winning the outfit game too.
If you prefer to look incognito at the game this weekend, cute black, white or denim outfits are the move. This Saturday, in Lawrence, the temperature will be in the 50s and 60s. So, a denim jacket is a must.
A white denim jacket, like the “Oversized Distressed Denim Trucker Jacket” from Abercrombie, is perfect for a cute denim look without giving off any Jayhawk blue vibes. A black and white set is a great low-effort outfit, such as the “Edikted Hali Striped Knit Set” from Pacsun.
If you don’t want to scream K-State this weekend, but still want to incorporate a purple touch, a fun gameday pin or some K-State earrings are a good small way to show your pride. Amazon has a lot of cheap and stylish purple earrings that would look great!
If you are venturing to Lawrence this weekend and are planning on repping purple loud and proud, I have some ideas for you.
First off, nothing says K-State like the purple and white striped gameday overalls that you can buy at Rally House!
One stylish way to elevate any outfit and add that purple flair is a pair of purple cowboy boots. A great example is the “Movin on Western Boot” from Nordstrom.
There are only two home games left this season, Nov. 1 and Nov. 29. Temperatures will be low, but spirits will be high, so let’s talk about outfit ideas to keep you warm yet stylish at home fall football games.
You don’t necessarily need to go out and buy a new wardrobe for fall gamedays; restyling your summer gameday pieces can work just fine. You can take any purple top or dress that you have, pair it with a white jacket and voila, you’ve got yourself an autumn outfit.
To spice things up and create entirely new outfits for the upcoming game days, I think vintage K-State jackets and sweaters are the perfect statement piece for a fall gameday outfit. I found a lot of vintage K-State sweatshirts just by going through my uncle’s closet!
But if you don’t have any K-State alumni relatives, you can find plenty of cool vintage pieces at the Little Apple Vintage Shop, which is open Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and located at 622 N. Manhattan Ave.
Another one of my favorite fall gameday looks is denim on denim. A pair of denim jeans paired with an oversized denim jacket and a purple top underneath is so chic. Old Navy has plenty of matching denim sets, so you don’t have to find two pairs of denim that match each other.
Although sweaters are cute, everyone knows they’re a staple of a fall wardrobe. So, let’s change it up a bit. How about sweater dresses and sweater sets? That way, you can feel cozy and dressed up on gamedays. Amber Moon Boutique has the cutest sweater dress for gamedays, the “Women Fashion Knit Mini Dress.”
For a sweater set, the “Kerryn 3D Daisy Sweater Set” from Altar’d State is adorable and would look great paired with those purple cowboy boots!
