All new K-State students are invited to Wildcat Welcome Day from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the K-State Alumni Center, sponsored by the K-State Alumni Association. Those who attend can enjoy ice cream floats, register for a textbook scholarship and other prizes and learn about the association's student programs.

The Manhattan Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking volunteer coaches for youth soccer, volleyball, cheerleading and flag football. The approximate season dates are Sept. 2-Oct. 30. Teams generally practice about 2-3 hours per week on schedules set by the coaches. Games are played on Sunday afternoons or weeknight evenings, beginning Sept. 14.
